1As of everybody me too faced the same problem while connecting using mobile broad bands like tata indicom and reliance(CDMA) over Fedora Distributions and other similar ones

Here when i tried it over Fedora 12 it was Success the steps along with Screen shots are here

Start Configure one from the Configure button

NB: From KDE

1. Goto Applications >> Internet >> Internet Dial up tool

initially there will be no connections configured

Authentication : PAP

2

We have to Edit two tabs

1. Accounts and

2. Modem

Goto Accounts Create one there

Give connection name (say tata)

Phone number  : #777

change it accordingly

3

Now add New Modem

Give Modem name (say huewai)

Modem Device : /dev/ttyUSB0

Leave all rest as Default

Now edit /etc/resolv.conf and add primary and secondary name servers

in my case these are

nameserver 202.54.29.5
nameserver 202.54.12.164

All Done Now you will connect to the network
