Meego Experience on Netbook

December 20 11:35 2010

i just installed meego on my dell mini 1018,

steps i followed

downloaded meego ISO From meego.com

Download Link : http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/releases/1.1/netbook/images/meego-netbook-ia32/meego-netbook-ia32-1.1.img

and i downloaded from Windows and there by i needed these steps

Windows Instructions

There is a simple way to put the MeeGo image on a USB drive.

  • Download the Win32DiskImager.exe program:
    https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download (zip file)
  • Unzip the file and extract the contents to a known directory
  • Run W32DiskImager.exe (screenshot)
  • Select the MeeGo image file (.img)
  • Select the drive letter which corresponds to the USB key
  • Click the “Write” button to byte-copy the image to the USB drive.

And Start boot from USB ( for this Press F12 to select boot from USB)

on boot select Installl only from Boot menu and as i m about to remove Ubuntu i select Remove all Linux Partitions and Create Default layout

the installtion took only 7 Minutes and on very next reboot it asked only user account details

Done., Meego is ready for the Go

by default Meego will not display boot menu, To display this Press Alt + S on boot

Dual boot also is not an issue, only thing i missed is Wireless , i hope it also will be sorted and if so i ll post it in  a later article
